  4. Usernames
    Purpose: To provide a unique identifier for your account on the platform. Usernames allow for easier searchability and recognition by other users while offering a level of privacy by not disclosing your full name.
  5. Passwords
    Purpose: To secure your account and protect your personal information. Passwords ensure that access to your Someonelikeme account is restricted to you or someone you have authorized.
  6. Gender
    Purpose: Used to personalize your user experience. Gender data can assist in tailoring the app's matching process and recommendations to your preferences.
  7. Date of Birth
    Purpose: To ensure that all users meet the age requirements of the app. This information helps in maintaining the safety and legal compliance of the platform.
  8. Photos
    Purpose: To personalize your profile, enhance user matching, and importantly, for face recognition technology used for user verification purposes. Photos allow other users to visually recognize you, contributing to the social aspects of the app. Additionally, they are crucial for the face recognition feature, which is employed to verify and authenticate user identities, ensuring the security and integrity of the platform.

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number, and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is stored by Google Play, Apple, Stripe and PhonePe. Social Media Login Data. We may provide you with the option to register with us using your existing social media account details, like your Facebook, Twitter, or other social media account. If you choose to register in this way, we will collect the information described in the section called 'HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?' below. Application Data. If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:

  • Geolocation Information. We may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application(s), to provide certain location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings.
  • Mobile Device Access. We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device's camera, microphone, SMS messages, social media accounts, storage, and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings.
  • Mobile Device Data. We automatically collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer), operating system, version information and system configuration information, device and application identification numbers, browser type and version, hardware model Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, and Internet Protocol (IP) address (or proxy server). 3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ('third parties') who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. They cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will also not share your personal information with any organisation apart from us. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct. The third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:

  • Google Firebase: Used for user authentication, notification delivery, and crash analytics. We may share your sign-in data, device information, and interaction data to facilitate these features.
  • Agora: Integrated to enable audio and video calling functionalities. Call data, including time stamps and participant information, may be shared to ensure a smooth calling experience.
  • Twilio: Employed for sending One-Time Passwords (OTPs) to your mobile number for verification purposes. Your mobile number and verification status are shared for this functionality.
  • SendGrid: Utilized for sending OTPs via email. We share your email address and verification information to ensure secure access to our services.
  • Stripe/PhonePe: These payment processing platforms are integrated to handle transactions. We share transaction data, including payment method details, for processing payments.
  • AWS: We use Amazon Web Services for image and video uploads (S3) and face recognition features. Data shared includes uploaded media and facial recognition data for security and feature enhancement.
  • Facebook Developer Console: Incorporated to facilitate user logins through Facebook. We share login information to enable this sign-in option.
  • Apple Login: Implemented for users who choose to log in using their Apple credentials. We share necessary login data for this purpose.

Legal Compliance and Security
In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We will share data when legally obligated to do so or to protect our rights, property, or safety, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Such an offer wall allows third-party advertisers to offer virtual currency, gifts, or other items to users in return for the acceptance and completion of an advertisement offer. Such an offer wall may appear in our application(s) and be displayed to you based on certain data, such as your geographic area or demographic information. When you click on an offer wall, you will be brought to an external website belonging to other persons and will leave our application(s). A unique identifier, such as your user ID, will be shared with the offer wall provider in order to prevent fraud and properly credit your account with the relevant reward.

6. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?

In Short: Choosing to register or log in to our Services via a social media account is entirely optional, but doing so can enhance your profile's credibility on our platform.

Our Services, Someonelikeme, offer you the option to register and log in using your third-party social media account details, such as Facebook, Twitter, or other platforms. When you opt to use this feature, we may access certain information from your social media profile. The information we typically receive includes your name, email address, friends list, and profile picture, along with any additional details you have made public on your social media account.

Purpose: We use the information obtained from your social media account to facilitate the account creation or login process and to enrich your profile on our platform. Linking your social media account also grants you a verification badge, boosting your credibility among other users. This badge is a sign of increased authenticity and helps build trust within the Someonelikeme community.

Control and Privacy:
Please be aware that linking your social media account is entirely optional. If you choose to do so, understand that we do not control how your third-party social media provider uses your personal information. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies to understand their data practices and to set your privacy preferences accordingly.

We commit to using the information received from social media platforms solely for the purposes outlined in this privacy policy or as clearly communicated to you in relation to the relevant Services.

7. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?

Our servers are located in India. 8. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We do not process consumer's sensitive personal information.

Verification process

Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person with whom we have the information in our system. These verification efforts require us to ask you to provide information so that we can match it with the information you have previously provided us. For instance, depending on the type of request you submit, we may ask you to provide certain information so that we can match the information you provide with the information we already have on file, or we may contact you through a communication method (e.g. phone or email) that you have previously provided to us. We may also use other verification methods as the circumstances dictate.

We will only use the personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. To the extent possible, we will avoid requesting additional information from you for the purposes of verification. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes. We will delete such additionally provided information as soon as we finish verifying you.

Other privacy rights

  • You may object to the processing of your personal information.
  • You may request correction of your personal data if it is incorrect or no longer relevant, or ask to restrict the processing of the information.

Verification process

We may request that you provide additional information reasonably necessary to verify you and your consumer's request. If you submit the request through an authorised agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request.

Upon receiving your request, we will respond without undue delay, but in all cases, within forty-five (45) days of receipt. The response period may be extended once by forty-five (45) additional days when reasonably necessary. We will inform you of any such extension within the initial 45-day response period, together with the reason for the extension.

Right to appeal
